Problem

Sadaf, a mobile application that aimed to create a blind-friendly world empowered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to enhance the independence and convenience of individuals with visual impairments. The problem was that there were no existing applications that catered to the needs of visually impaired individuals in such a comprehensive manner. There was a need for an application that could detect objects, read text aloud, analyze tools, provide proximity alerts, and identify geographical locations.

The solution was Sadaf - an application that combined AI and IoT technologies to provide visually impaired individuals with greater independence and convenience. The app used object detection technology to identify objects in real-time, text-to-speech technology to read out text aloud, personalized tool analysis to help users identify tools based on their unique needs, proximity alerts to help users navigate their surroundings safely, and geographical location identification to help users find their way around unfamiliar places.
