As music lovers, we often found ourselves curious about our listening habits on Spotify. However, the platform doesn't offer a comprehensive way to visualize this data. We wanted to create a tool that would allow users to easily access and analyze their Spotify listening history.

We also noticed that many existing tools for visualizing Spotify data were limited in scope or difficult to use. We wanted to create a user-friendly interface that would make it easy for anyone to explore their listening habits.

Solution

Our team developed BeatCapaule, a web application that fetches a user's Spotify listening data and creates visualizations using Python, Flask, and Matplotlib. Users can log in with their Spotify account and view detailed statistics about their listening habits over time.

The application includes several interactive visualizations, including line graphs of daily listening activity, pie charts of top artists and genres, and bar charts of most frequently played tracks. Users can filter their data by date range or specific playlists.
