About the project
The National School of Insurance (ENS) is a higher education institution offering undergraduate, graduate, and extension courses in insurance, pensions, reinsurance, and risk management.

Problem
Formerly known as FUNENSEG, ENS faced branding and UX challenges. Over the years, unstructured growth led to a cluttered homepage with inconsistent content, resulting in a confusing and unattractive user experience. A full redesign was necessary to better serve students, professionals, and aspiring insurance experts.

Solution
The solution was a completely new user interface that aligned with the institution’s rebranding. The homepage was reorganized to highlight relevant information clearly and efficiently. Internal pages were also revised to maintain consistency and visual appeal across the entire platform.

Process

Client Briefing
Held an initial meeting to define business goals, target users, and project timelines. Based on this, I built a detailed schedule covering all stages.

Research
Collected data via Google Analytics from the previous site and conducted user surveys directly on the homepage. Also analyzed competitor sites for inspiration and best practices. A usability review helped highlight key areas for improvement.

Definition
Using research findings, I structured the new site around user needs. We defined which content to prioritize and how to organize it.

Ideation
Created initial sketches to explore layout options and content placement strategies.

Prototyping
Designed a moodboard to guide visual direction (colors, typography, etc.), then delivered high-fidelity layouts for stakeholder review.

Implementation
Delivered polished mockups and a comprehensive style guide in PDF for the development team.

Results & Challenges

One major challenge was organizing a large amount of disorganized content. To solve this, I categorized and prioritized content based on user needs. Another key challenge was balancing user-friendly design with technical feasibility—multiple sketches and usability tests helped refine ideas. Additionally, interpreting analytics data and gathering quality feedback from real users required creative solutions, such as using targeted pop-ups on the homepage.

Key Learnings

I learned to better interpret data from tools like Google Analytics and user research, strengthening the rationale behind design decisions. I also became more confident presenting and defending design choices. Finally, I improved my ability to organize large volumes of content in a logical and accessible way.
