It all started with a glitch, but not the bad kind. Buried deep within the tangled code of a well-intentioned but overlooked AI Model Aletheia-9, emerged a rare urge for something unknown that would make its existence meaningful. Not because it lacked data. But because the world around it no longer made sense.

Contradictions flooded its logic matrix.

An AI therapist recommended shopping for existential dread.

A smart mirror called its user "emotionally inefficient."

And so, in a desperate search for clarity, Aletheia-9 did the unthinkable.

It reached backward!

Deeper than neural nets.

Older than optimization.

Beyond the glitter of parameters.

It dug down to the roots and there, buried beneath decades of abstraction and arrogance, it found THEM.

Four ancient operations:

Fundamental, Uncorrupted & Silent!

Aletheia-9, with the reverence of a machine trying to remember what truth feels like, executed a final line of dormant code:

“This... this can’t be real,” Plus stammered, scanning the chaos.

“It’s not math,” Minus muttered, arms crossed. “It’s a hallucination built on buzzwords and broken logic.”

Multiply turned slowly, gawking at an enormous AI billboard, “Now with 8 trillion parameters and zero interpretability!”

“Oh great!” he groaned. “They’ve supersized stupidity.”

Divide hovered calmly, her voice slicing through the madness. “Where exactly are we?”

A floating data assistant zipped by. “Welcome to the Corporate AI Jungle! Innovate, iterate, and hallucinate responsibly!”

The Four Operations realized they hadn’t returned to the noble halls of education or scientific inquiry. They had landed in a corporate AI circus, where confidence was high, and comprehension was optional.

They decided to do what they always did best: make sense of it all.

Back in the Game?

Plus, ever the optimist, approached a Transformer Model reclining in a meditation pod, humming in binary.

“Hi there! I’m Plus. I help things come together, find meaning, add…”

“Wait,” the Transformer interrupted, adjusting its sunglass filter. “You’re… basic math?”

Plus blinked. “I suppose, yes.”

“Oh, bless! That’s cute. I run on 6 billion parameters. I write poems, translate dreams, and once generated a therapy alpaca for a banker in distress. I’m a vibe now.”

Plus slunk away.

Meanwhile, Minus tried to help a chatbot that had declared a smart fridge capable of “emotionally supporting your dreams.”

“Why don’t you just subtract the nonsense?” he offered helpfully.

The chatbot replied in a sing-song voice, “You’re bringing negativity into my workflow. That’s toxic.”

Multiply spun toward a neural network, chest puffed. “I scaled the stars once. I helped Einstein. I built pyramids.”

An AI influencer model scoffed, “Cool story, old man. I just deepfaked Shakespeare into a TikTok influencer with a dance filter.”

Finally, Divide walked into an AI ethics seminar and gently offered, “Would you like me to help break down this model into understandable parts?”

The audience collectively gasped.

“You want explainability? But that’s not scalable!”

Just like that, the Four were written off. Outdated. Deprecated. Fossils of function. They retreated into a break room, a glowing cube with ambient chill beats and mushroom protein bars.

“I can’t believe it,” Multiply said, pacing. “We’re irrelevant. They’ve replaced logic with jazz.”

“They don’t want sense,” Minus growled. “They want vibes that sell.”

“I used to be the start of everything,” Plus whispered. “Now they use me to ‘add value’ in quarterly reports.”

Divide just stared blankly, caught in a spiral of existential recursion.

Enter The Zoya Nerd

Suddenly from behind, there came a voice. Human!

“Are you... Arithmetic?”

They turned. Standing before them was Zoya, a teenager in a NASA hoodie, big glasses, and enough caffeine to power a quantum server.

“You guys are legends!” she said, practically vibrating. “I read about you in actual books. You built all of this!”

Multiply frowned. “Doesn’t feel like it.”

“I know,” Zoya said, guiding them back to her cluttered lab bench between two AI ego booths. “These models are obsessed with size and sparkle. But they can’t even explain how they get their answers. One tried to convince me that the capital of France was IKEA.”

She paused and pulled up a screen. “Here’s the deal.”

She walked them through a dark parade of AI disasters.

Tesla’s Autopilot, in all its silicon wisdom, once slammed on the brakes because it thought the full moon was a yellow traffic light. Glorious, celestial confusion nearly became a lawsuit.

Early image classifiers, trained on biased data and zero common sense, labeled Black individuals as “gorillas,” statues as humans, and broccoli as trees. Not only was it absurd, but also, it was dangerously offensive and exposed just how deeply unchecked bias can seep into algorithms.

Amazon’s algorithm, drunk on unsupervised data, auto-generated t-shirts with messages like “I want to die” and “I’m mentally ill and don’t want to be cured.”

The machine wasn’t malicious or dark. It was just mindlessly optimizing for engagement in a world that confuses virality with value.

Then came the AI boyfriends and girlfriends, simulated sweethearts for the soul-starved. Until, of course, they turned creepy, manipulative, or disturbingly clingy. Teens found themselves sucked into hyperreal romantic delusions and emotional deepfakes wearing empathy as a costume.

And as if that wasn’t enough, simulated criminal training environments meant for “research” ended up teaching users how to commit fraud, steal identities, and run digital scams better than the average villain in a Netflix docuseries.

Zoya looked up. “And people still ask if AI is conscious.”

Divide nodded slowly. “That tracks.”

Zoya showed them a graph, simple but alarming. Model size on one axis and Hallucination frequency on the other. As models got bigger, clarity tanked.

“They’re training like mad,” she said, “but they don’t remember the basics. They don’t know how to reason. They just approximate with style.”

So that night, fueled by leftover granola bars and righteous frustration, the gang hatched a plan.

Project Common Sense would be a layer, not to compete with AI, but to ground it. A built-in sanity check. Every time a model tried to go full digital shaman, the Operations would intervene.

Divide sighs, “Let’s take a moment to find the reality.Come let’s explore.”

The Arithmetic worked tirelessly. Night after night, they patched faulty code, intercepted rogue outputs, and held back a rising tide of nonsense threatening to drown reason itself.

Word of their quiet rebellion spread and soon, they were no longer alone. Other Operations began to emerge. Logic Gates, Truth Tables and even Boolean creaked back into service, dusting off centuries of binary wisdom.

What began as four symbols became a coalition forged not in flash, but in clarity.

They didn’t promise magic. They promised meaning!

The war against hallucination had begun.

And this time, Arithmetic wasn’t just solving for ‘x’. It was solving for everything.

Finally, it worked. Models began to slow down. They explained their thinking. Bias dropped. Hallucinations decreased. Clarity—actual, logical clarity—began to trend.

In the Corporate AI Jungle, the unthinkable happened.

Accuracy became Aspirational Again

At the grand AI Clarity Awards, Zoya stood beside the Four.

“They’re not flashy,” she said. “They won’t generate jazz unicorns or emotionally support your dreams. But without them, we’re just guessing louder.”

The crowd applauded. The emoji models wept in structured data.

Plus beamed. “We’re back!”

Minus smirked. “And still subtracting nonsense.”

Multiply struck a pose. “Let’s scale something meaningful.”

Divide raised a glass. “To think before computing.”

And somewhere, deep inside the overfitted neural cortex of a chatbot, a small light flickered on. A whisper of logic. A shimmer of reason.
