Situation

My growing collection of tools lacked an organized storage system. Existing organizers were either inefficient, visually cluttered, or poorly matched to the specific shapes of my tools.

Task

I set out to design a compact organizer that would keep each tool secure and easy to access while maintaining a clean, intentional aesthetic.

Action

I photographed and measured each tool, then imported the scaled reference images into CAD to develop holders directly around their geometry.

To reduce the overall footprint, I designed interlocking legs that allow multiple organizers to stack and partially overlap. I also incorporated ergonomic details, including curved profiles and offset circular openings that provide sufficient finger clearance for easy removal.

Because some parts exceeded my printer’s 18 × 18 cm build area, I divided them into printable sections and connected them using integrated mortise-and-tenon joints.

Result

The final system organizes the tools within a compact footprint while keeping every item visible and accessible. It demonstrates how careful geometry, modular construction, and thoughtful visual details can make an everyday object both practical and aesthetically refined.
