Our team was approached by a non-profit organization that focuses on improving the lives of visually impaired individuals. They wanted us to create an image captioning system that could describe images to blind people in real-time. The organization believed that this technology would help visually impaired individuals better understand their surroundings and improve their overall quality of life.

Problem

The problem we faced was creating an image captioning system that could accurately describe images to blind people in real-time. We needed to develop a system that could recognize objects, people, and other elements within an image and then generate a description of those elements. Additionally, the system had to be fast enough to provide real-time descriptions so that users could quickly understand their surroundings.

Solution

To solve this problem, we developed an image recognition algorithm that used deep learning techniques to identify objects within an image. We trained the algorithm using a large dataset of labeled images, which allowed it to accurately recognize objects with high precision. Once the algorithm identified the objects within an image, we used natural language processing techniques to generate a description of those objects in real-time.
