Background

Grocer AR is a placement and planning app that utilizes AR technology to measure and scale the dimensions of users' food storage spaces. The app offers accurate food packaging measurements to virtually place food, with the goal of reducing overbuying and poor grocery planning that commonly leads to consumer food waste. As a UX Researcher, my role was to create a research plan for the development team.

Problem

The problem we faced was how to create an app that accurately measures food packaging sizes and provides virtual placement options for users. We needed to ensure that our solution was user-friendly, intuitive, and effective in reducing food waste. To do this, we needed to conduct extensive research on user needs, preferences, and behaviors when it comes to grocery shopping and food storage.

Solution

To address these challenges, I created a comprehensive research plan that included both qualitative and quantitative methods. We conducted surveys, interviews, and focus groups with potential users to understand their pain points when it comes to grocery shopping and meal planning. We also tested different prototypes of the app with users to gather feedback on usability and effectiveness.
