Background

The word-clock project is a unique and creative way to display time using letters and words. While there are many similar projects available on the internet, this particular project stands out due to its compact size of only 8 cm by 8 cm. The project utilizes an old Arduino microcontroller, an 8x8 dot matrix display LED, a MAX 7219 driver, and a DS1307 real-time clock module.

Problem

The main challenge faced during the development of this project was creating a software algorithm that could accurately display the time using letters and words. Additionally, finding the right hardware components that would fit within the small size constraints of the project was also a challenge.

Solution

To overcome these challenges, we spent considerable time researching existing word-clock projects and experimenting with different software algorithms until we found one that worked well for our needs. We also had to carefully select hardware components that were small enough to fit within the size constraints of the project while still being powerful enough to run the software algorithm effectively.
