Background

Our team of volunteers came together with a shared passion for using technology to solve real-world problems. We were particularly interested in the fields of AI and Data Science, and we wanted to apply our skills to create innovative solutions that were also ethical and efficient. We knew that by working together, we could achieve more than we ever could alone.

Problem

We identified several real-world problems that we believed could be solved through the application of AI and Data Science. One problem that stood out was the issue of food waste. Every year, billions of tons of food are wasted around the world, while millions go hungry. We wanted to create a solution that would help reduce food waste while also ensuring that those in need had access to nutritious meals.

Solution

After researching various approaches, we decided to develop an AI-powered platform that would connect restaurants and grocery stores with local charities and food banks. The platform would use machine learning algorithms to predict which items were likely to go unsold or unused, allowing businesses to donate them before they went to waste. Charities and food banks could then use the donations to provide meals for those in need.
