Background

As language learners, we understand the importance of building vocabulary. However, keeping track of new words and reviewing them regularly can be a daunting task. I wanted to create an app that would make this process easier and more efficient.

Problem

The existing flashcard apps were either too complicated or lacked essential features such as automatic word recommendation. I wanted to create an app that would fetch dictionary information from Wiktionary and recommend which words to learn next based on the user's vocabulary.

Solution

I developed Langki, an Android app that facilitates the creation of digital flashcards for the Anki spaced repetition system. The app fetches dictionary information from Wiktionary and keeps track of the user's vocabulary, recommending which words to learn next. The user can also customize their decks by adding images and audio recordings.

Impact

Increased efficiency in language learning by recommending the most used words to be learned first.
