Background

Our team set out to create a price comparison e-commerce platform for the African market. We recognized that there was a need for a platform that could help consumers easily compare prices from different retailers and make informed purchasing decisions. We wanted to create a platform that was user-friendly, accessible, and comprehensive.

Problem

The biggest challenge we faced was building a platform that could handle the sheer volume of data required for price comparisons across multiple retailers. We also had to ensure that the platform was scalable and could accommodate future growth as more retailers came on board. Additionally, we had to navigate the unique challenges of operating in the African market, including limited internet connectivity and varying levels of technological literacy among consumers.

Solution

We developed a robust backend infrastructure that could handle large amounts of data and traffic. We also focused on creating an intuitive user interface that would be easy for anyone to use, regardless of their level of technical expertise. To address connectivity issues, we optimized our platform for low-bandwidth connections and made sure it was accessible via mobile devices. Finally, we worked closely with retailers to ensure they were able to easily integrate their products into our system.
