How it started

Slick Wallet (Previously Orange Wallet) started as a hobby project while I was working at Spheron, made to fulfill our own needs, but it wasn't meant to be a Small side project.

How it went

After a while I bought Akshit together on my journey, we gathered some grants from Polygon, poolTogether, and Gitcoin Grants, gathered a small team, and started to scale the product to cater needs of the ecosystem. After some time we got an offer for acquisition, and we decided to go for acquisition.

Some remarkable features we shipped -

Exchange-like experience for derivatives and limit orders right in the non-custodial wallet.
First mobile app to allow buying and selling NFTs on Opensea from App itself, even Opensea's own app redirected users to a webpage.
Fixed deposit-like functionality with Aave and poolTogether.
Clicking a picture and minting an NFT within seconds, from a precious moment to a forever-lasting memory with just a click.

Impact

Before getting acquired we had around 2,000 users with zero dollars spent on marketing it.
We had around 12,000 downloads
Improved user experience and satisfaction
10,100 signups for testflight.
Received more than 4,000 contributions on Gitcoin grants.
