Problem

With only 200,000 Solidity/Ethereum Developers worldwide, the Ethereum Ecosystem was in need of a way to onboard more developers. With 7.1 million Java Developers worldwide, it made sense to create a way for these developers to build Smart Contracts in Java. This would allow for a significant increase in the number of developers working within the Ethereum Ecosystem.

Solution

Java Abstraction for Ethereum Smart Contracts was created to allow Java Developers to write Smart Contracts in their native language. This would make it easier for them to onboard into the Ethereum Ecosystem and start building decentralized applications.

This solution provided an abstraction layer between Java and Solidity, allowing developers to write Smart Contracts in Java without having to compile them into Solidity code that could be deployed to the Ethereum network.

Impact

This project was ultimately forked into Jehova: Smart Contract Language for Ethereum Developers.
