Problem

Our team faced a unique challenge when we were tasked with building a cafe racer bike from scratch using an old 1983 Royal Enfield engine. We had to ensure that the bike was not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and safe for the rider. The biggest challenge was sourcing all the necessary parts and materials within our budget.

We also faced logistical challenges during our bike tour of all seven states of North East India in just 20 days. We had to plan out the route, ensure that we had enough fuel stops along the way, and make sure that all riders were equipped with proper safety gear. It was a daunting task, but we were determined to make it happen.

Solution

For the cafe racer bike project, we started by researching different designs and gathering inspiration from other custom bikes. We then created a detailed plan and timeline for the build process, which included sourcing parts from various suppliers and fabricating custom pieces in-house. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail was perfect, from the paint job to the leather seat.

During our bike tour, we made sure to have daily meetings where we discussed any issues or concerns that arose. We also had a support vehicle following us at all times in case of emergencies. To ensure that everyone stayed safe on the road, we provided each rider with a helmet, gloves, and riding jacket. We also made sure to take breaks every few hours so that everyone could rest and refuel.

Impact

Successfully built a cafe racer bike from scratch using an old Royal Enfield engine, which received positive feedback from the client and other motorcycle enthusiasts.
Completed a bike tour of all seven states of North East India in just 20 days, which was the first-ever group to do so.
Increased awareness about motorcycle tourism in North East India and inspired others to take on similar challenges.
