Atlas.storage

Problem

At Protocol Labs, we recognized the need for a decentralized geospatial data platform that could store petabytes of data on the Filecoin network. There was no proven product that was able to store petabytes of data on the Filecoin network and retrieve it. Additionally, there was a lack of retrieval APIs for fast access to geospatial data, making it difficult for developers to build applications on top of this data.

We knew that building such a platform would be challenging as it required integrating multiple technologies and ensuring they worked seamlessly together. Furthermore, we had to ensure that the platform was secure, reliable, and scalable enough to handle large amounts of data.

Solution

To address these challenges, we built atlas.storage - a decentralized geospatial data platform that stores petabytes of data on the Filecoin network and provides retrieval APIs for fast access.

The platform allows users to upload their geospatial datasets in various formats such as GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, etc., which are then stored on the Filecoin network. The retrieval APIs allow developers to easily access this data from anywhere in the world using simple HTTP requests.
