Problem

Our team was tasked with creating a short film that would be entered into the Tel Aviv International Student Film festival. The challenge was to create a compelling and engaging story that would resonate with the festival audience while also adhering to the strict time limit of five minutes.

We knew that we needed to come up with an idea that would stand out from the other entries and showcase our creativity and storytelling abilities. However, we were also working with a limited budget and had to find ways to maximize our resources without sacrificing quality.

Solution

After brainstorming several ideas, we decided on a story about a young woman who is struggling to find her place in the world. We felt that this theme was universal and relatable, and we could use it as a platform to explore deeper issues such as identity, belonging, and self-discovery.

To make the most of our limited resources, we decided to shoot the film in one location using natural lighting. We also enlisted the help of local actors who were willing to work for free in exchange for exposure and experience. By keeping our production costs low, we were able to allocate more resources towards post-production editing and sound design.
