Problem

The objective of this project was to create an audio depiction of an ant's environment and how it perceives sound. Given that the majority of this project will involve experimenting with various sounds and combining, mixing, and matching them, this is the kind of project where I will truly excel. The challenge was that there was little information about how ants perceive sound, making it a rather unconventional task.

Solution

To address this, I came up with an imaginative approach. I used various sound manipulation tools to create a completely fictional soundscape inspired by ants. This involved experimenting with different sound elements to craft an engaging and thought-provoking auditory experience. My research mostly centered around sound sourcing rather than anything else. This was the best solution to the roadblock I was faced with. I had a large library of sounds that I could mix and match.

Impact

My experimental sound project had a significant impact on my artistic journey. Through the making of this project, I discovered a newfound interest in surrealism. Experimental sound had no bounds, and I could do whatever I wanted to create sounds for the unknown.
