Problem

Single-use plastic cutlery is a major contributor to environmental pollution. With the increasing awareness of the impact of plastic on the environment, there is a growing demand for sustainable alternatives. However, most eco-friendly cutlery options are expensive and not easily accessible to the masses. Our challenge was to create an affordable and sustainable alternative to plastic cutlery that would be widely available.

We also had to find a way to produce our cutlery in large quantities while maintaining quality and keeping costs low. This required us to come up with innovative production techniques that would allow us to scale quickly without compromising on sustainability or affordability.

Solution

We founded an edible cutlery startup that produces spoons, forks, and bowls made from natural ingredients like wheat flour, rice flour, and corn starch. Our products are 100% biodegradable and compostable, making them a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic cutlery.

To keep costs low, we developed an innovative production technique that allowed us to manufacture our products at scale while maintaining quality. We also partnered with the incubation cell of India for support in funding and mentorship, which helped us in scaling up our business quickly.
