At our company, we were facing a problem with the efficiency of our problem-solving process. Associates were struggling to complete an adequate amount of damaged, incorrectly marked, or misplaced packages during their shifts. This was causing delays in our operations and affecting customer satisfaction.

We realized that the current location of the problem solve station was not conducive to efficient work. It was located too far away from where the actual problems were occurring, which meant that associates had to spend more time traveling back and forth instead of completing tasks.

Solution

To address this issue, we decided to move the problem solve station closer to where the problems were occurring. We relocated it towards Damageland on one side and by the leadership desk on the other. This allowed associates to take the work directly to Problem Solvers, which enabled them to complete more tasks during their shifts.

We also implemented a new system for tracking and reporting on problem-solving progress. This helped us identify areas for improvement and make necessary changes quickly.
