Problem

Fitz, a Series A startup, lacked brand recognition in their target market. As the initial hire under the CMO, I was tasked with creating a marketing strategy that would increase brand awareness and drive user engagement. One of the main challenges we faced was finding a cost-effective way to reach our target audience.

After conducting market research, we discovered that our target audience heavily relied on social media for product recommendations and reviews. However, as a new player in the market, we had no existing social media presence or following. This presented a significant challenge in terms of building brand awareness and driving user engagement through social media channels.

Solution

To address this challenge, I created a social media affiliate marketing program that leveraged partnerships with influencers of all sizes to get the word out about our product. We identified micro-influencers and macro-influencers who had an engaged following within our target demographic and partnered with them to create sponsored content featuring our product.

We provided influencers with free samples of our product and paid them for each post they created featuring it. By partnering with influencers who had an engaged following within our target demographic, we were able to generate about 2 million impressions and increased the amount of user-generated social content by 150%.
