Problem

Our team was tasked to create a web-based consulting testing service application with 3 user roles namely guest, consultant, and admin. The main problem we encountered during the development phase was how to ensure that each user role had their own specific access and privileges within the application.

We conducted research and found out that there were no existing solutions that catered to our specific needs. We knew we had to come up with a unique solution that would address this issue.

Solution

After brainstorming sessions and several iterations of design and development, we came up with a solution that involved creating a custom authentication system for each user role. We also implemented an authorization system that granted or restricted access based on the user's role.

We used Laravel as our backend framework and Vue.js for the frontend. We created different views for each user role, ensuring that they only saw what was relevant to them. For example, guests could only view the homepage while consultants could view their dashboard where they could manage their clients' data.

Impact

The application increased efficiency by X% by automating tasks such as scheduling appointments and generating reports.
