Architecture Students Renovate Hotel with Limited Space
Problem
A group of architecture students were tasked with renovating an abandoned building into a hotel. The main challenges were the limited land space and the requirement to keep the existing facade material. Additionally, each member had to create technical drawings, floor plans, and elevation drawings with the same number of floors.
The team faced several issues throughout the project. Firstly, they struggled to come up with a design that could fit within the limited space while also meeting all requirements. Secondly, coordinating and ensuring consistency between each member's technical drawings proved difficult.
Solution
The team brainstormed several ideas before settling on a design that maximized the use of space while keeping the existing facade material intact. They utilized every inch of available space by creating multi-functional rooms and maximizing vertical space.
To ensure consistency between each member's technical drawings, they held regular meetings where they reviewed each other's work and provided feedback. This helped them identify any inconsistencies early on and make necessary adjustments.
