Problem

As an avid fisherman, I wanted to create a realistic fishing experience that could be enjoyed from the comfort of one's own home. However, traditional video games and simulators lacked the immersive quality necessary to truly replicate the feeling of being out on the water.

My team and I set out to create a virtual reality fishing simulator that would provide users with an authentic and engaging experience.

Solution

We decided to use Unreal Engine for our VR fishing simulator due to its powerful graphics capabilities and ease of use. We began by creating realistic 3D models of various fish species, as well as different types of rods, reels, and lures.

Next, we programmed the game mechanics to simulate real-life fishing techniques such as casting, reeling in, and setting the hook. We also added dynamic weather conditions and time-of-day changes to further enhance the realism of the experience.
