Background

We were approached by a client who wanted to develop a task management app for parents and children with gamification mechanics. The goal was to create an app that would help parents manage their children's tasks and chores while making it fun for the kids to complete them. The app was named "Child Ed" and we were tasked with developing wireframes and a prototype with basic functionality.

Problem

The main challenge we faced was creating an app that would be both functional and engaging for both parents and children. We had to strike a balance between providing useful features for parents, such as task assignment and progress tracking, while also making it fun for kids to use through gamification mechanics. Additionally, we had to ensure that the app was easy to use for both age groups.

Solution

To address these challenges, we started by conducting research on existing task management apps and gamification mechanics. We then created wireframes that incorporated the features we wanted to include in the app, such as task assignment, progress tracking, rewards, and leaderboards. We also designed the user interface with bright colors and playful graphics to make it appealing to children.

Once the wireframes were approved by the client, we developed a prototype with basic functionality using React Native. This allowed us to test the usability of the app with real users and make any necessary adjustments before moving on to full development.
