Problem

During my past summer internship at Indeed, I was tasked with analyzing a large dataset containing information from over 500 employers. The dataset was unorganized and contained a lot of irrelevant information that needed to be cleaned before analysis could begin. Additionally, the team needed to identify patterns within the data that could help inform business decisions.

The problem was that the data was too large and complex to analyze manually, and we didn't have a clear strategy for cleaning the data or identifying patterns within it.

Solution

To solve this problem, I utilized a variety of tools like R to clean the data and create pivot tables. I then used Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel to create visualizations that helped me identify patterns within the data.

One of the key solutions I implemented was creating pivot tables in R that allowed me to quickly filter through large amounts of data and identify trends. Finally I compiled my findings and visualizations into a concise PowerPoint and presented it at my final all-team meeting.

Impact

Identified top ten sectors with most job opportunities in three different cities
Identified top companies with highest numbers of jobs open for hiring in three different cities
Informed business decisions based on insights gained from analysis
