Problem

During my time at Mantrac/Unatrac Group, we faced a major challenge when a shipment from the UK to Iraq was disrupted due to the sudden takeover of ISIS. The shipment was supposed to be delivered to North Iraq before being moved to South Iraq. However, with the separation of North and South Iraq, it became impossible for us to deliver the shipment as planned.

We were faced with the possibility of having the shipment returned to the UK, which would have resulted in significant losses for our company. We needed a solution that would allow us to deliver the shipment to its final destination while minimizing any potential losses.

Solution

After researching our options and working closely with our shipping agent, we were able to come up with a solution that allowed us to deliver the shipment to South Iraq and then on to its final warehouse destination. This involved changing the destination of the shipment and rerouting it through different channels than originally planned.

We also made sure to keep all stakeholders informed throughout this process, including our supplier who was understanding of the situation and worked with us towards a successful outcome. By being flexible and adaptable in our approach, we were able to overcome this unforeseen event and successfully deliver the shipment despite significant challenges.
