Problem

We faced some challenges in evaluating the behavior of signals on the low voltage (LV) connector between an electric vehicle (EV) and a high voltage (HV) battery. The process was time-consuming and required extensive support from electrical engineers (EEs). New engineers took days to learn about EV features, which slowed down the development process. Additionally, non-EE personnel faced difficulties in working on EVs and testing things with minimum EE support.

Solution

We developed a device that could evaluate the behavior of signals on the LV connector between an EV and an HV battery and perform pen testing.

The platform allowed new engineers to get onboard faster since the process could be automated and standardized. Non-EE personnel could work on EVs and test things with minimum EE support. We built high-level applications that expanded use cases from a probing device to a performance characterization device.
