Problem

This is the design of an isolated primary-side regulated (PSR) DC-DC flyback converter that would have high efficiency over a wide input voltage range of 4.5 V to 42 V. The isolated output voltage also needed to be sampled from the primary-side flyback voltage.

Solution

After conducting extensive research and analysis, we developed a PSR DC-DC flyback converter that met all the requirements Our solution featured:

A novel control scheme that enabled high efficiency over a wide input voltage range
An isolated output voltage sampled from the primary-side flyback voltage
A compact design that reduced the number of required components and lowered production costs

We tested our solution extensively using simulations and prototypes
