Problem

Carrier board for the Decawave DWM1001 module to be used in automotive applications and for mass manufacturing. The module is a high-precision, ultra-wideband technology that provides accurate location and distance sensing.

The problem we faced was that the existing carrier board design did not meet the requirements of the automotive industry. It lacked EMI/EMC protection, which is essential for reliable operation in a vehicle environment. Additionally, it did not have the necessary interfaces for mass-production testing.

Solution

The new design included EMI/EMC protection measures such as shielding, filtering, and grounding. We also added interfaces for mass production testing, including JTAG and UART connections. Finally, we optimized the layout to minimize signal interference and improve reliability.
