Problem

Wheel speed sensors are critical for ensuring the safety of drivers and passengers by providing accurate data to the vehicle's anti-lock braking system (ABS). However, the current reluctance wheel speed sensors were prone to inaccurate readings, leading to potential safety hazards on the road.

The system also needs to incorporate high-fidelity load cell sampling interfaces (24-bit or more).

This module also had to be able to communicate with the vehicle control unit (VCU)

Solution

We developed a new sensor interface design that was compatible with both reluctance and active wheel speed sensors, future-proofing the design as vehicles go through iterations

We then worked closely with our controls engineering team to integrate this new sensor design into their existing ABS, longitudinal, and lateral control models. This involved extensive testing and validation to ensure that the new sensors met all necessary performance requirements and could be seamlessly integrated into production processes.
