Problem

During my time at Bentley Systems, I was responsible for ensuring the robustness and functionality of OpenRoads Designer. My primary role was manual testing of critical areas such as geometry, corridor analysis, and workflow testing. However, the process was time-consuming and required a lot of resources to ensure that the product met the required quality standards.

Additionally, we faced challenges in diagnosing and addressing client problems, which led to delays in issue resolution and impacted user experiences. This resulted in a decrease in customer satisfaction levels and affected our reputation in the market.

Solution

To address these challenges, we implemented an automated testing framework that allowed us to reduce manual testing efforts significantly. We used Selenium WebDriver to automate functional tests while also leveraging Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.

We also established a dedicated technical support team that worked closely with clients to diagnose issues promptly and provide timely resolutions. Additionally, we introduced a feedback mechanism that allowed us to collect user feedback regularly and incorporate it into future product releases.
