Problem

Creating a video with slides can be a time-consuming process, especially when it comes to visual design. It can take hours to create visually appealing slides that effectively convey the key points of the video. This was the problem I faced when tasked with creating a video about making an AI skills portfolio as part of the education and programming team for our flagship AI skills training program.

Without a solution, this would have resulted in a significant amount of time being spent on visual design, taking away from other important aspects of building out the program and ensuring an effective learning experience for program participants.

Solution

To solve this problem, I introduced Gamma into the workflow. Gamma is an AI-powered platform that generates slides based on inputted scripts or simple prompts. I was able to save 4-5 hours of work by directly inputting the script I had written into Gamma, quickly editing the generated slides, and updating them to reflect our brand visual identity.

This solution not only saved time but also ensured that the slides were visually appealing and effectively conveyed the key points made in the video.

Process

I generated the script using a combination of Perplexity, ChatGPT, and then edited it using my own knowledge. I then put the script into Gamma to generate the slides.

Next, I edited the slides to match the Mia AI colors and elements of our brand visual identity, I added our logo, and this was the final result.

Lastly, I recorded the video using Loom, the script, and my AI generated slides. It was a quick and easy workflow that was sped up by using both AI-generated text combined with my subject knowledge and AI-generated slides combined with my graphic design know-how.

The final output was used as part of our Global AI Leadership program which had over 100 learners in the initial cohort, many of whom experienced significant career advancement and promotions as a direct result of participating in the program.

Saved 4-5 hours of work per video and allowed me more time to create learning assets
