Problem

Our client wanted a home automation system that would allow them to control various devices in their home using their smartphone and voice commands through Google Assistant. They also wanted the system to be affordable and easy to use.

After researching available options, we found that most existing home automation systems were expensive and difficult to set up. Additionally, many did not offer integration with Google Assistant, which was a key requirement for our client.

Solution

We decided to build a custom home automation system using NodeMCU microcontrollers and the Blynk app. NodeMCU is an open-source platform based on the ESP8266 Wi-Fi chip that is both affordable and easy to program. Blynk is a mobile app that allows users to control connected devices from their smartphone.

We programmed the NodeMCU boards using Arduino IDE and connected them to various devices such as lights, fans, and air conditioners. We then integrated the Blynk app with Google Assistant using IFTTT (If This Then That) so that our client could control their devices using voice commands.
