Challenge

This organization lacked a centralized system for managing projects, resulting in missed deadlines, poor communication, and wasted resources. They needed a solution that would streamline project management and improve collaboration across teams and allow the sales team to expand the job portfolio.

After conducting research and analyzing our current processes, we identified the need for a Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee all projects and ensure they were completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.

Solution

I lead the creation a PMO from scratch by first establishing clear goals and objectives. With leadership team feedback, I then developed standardized processes for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects. This included creating templates for project charters, scope statements, risk assessments, change requests, status reports, integration to BI reporting for resources, timelines, and budget, and more.

I also revised the existing Monday.com project management software implementation to help organize client portfolios, sprints, sprint work, resources, and project progress. Additionally, provided training to team members on project management best practices so they could effectively contribute to projects under the PMO's oversight.
