Problem

Public speaking and debate are essential skills for students to learn, but not all students have access to quality instruction. Our team was tasked with creating an AI tutor that could teach K-12 students the art of public speaking and debate in a personalized way.

We faced several challenges in developing this project. First, we needed to create a prompt that would engage students and encourage them to participate in the learning process. Second, we needed to develop an AI system that could adapt to each student's learning level and prior knowledge. Finally, we needed to ensure that our AI tutor was effective in teaching public speaking and debate skills.

Solution

To address these challenges, we developed a prompt for our AI tutor that introduced the system as a helpful progressive tutor who is happy to help students with any questions. We then designed a series of questions that would assess each student's learning level and prior knowledge before providing tailored explanations, examples, and analogies.

Our AI system was built using natural language processing (NLP) technology, which allowed it to understand each student's responses and generate appropriate follow-up questions. We also incorporated machine learning algorithms into our system so that it could adapt its teaching style based on each student's progress.
