The Neoterica Online University (NOU) is one of the largest online universities in the world, with a diverse student base from different continents, cultures, and age groups. NOU uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support students' learning and augment teachers' capabilities. However, designing an AI assistant for educational contexts brings several challenges in user experience and pedagogical design.

Creating lesson plans with AI amplifies both the promise and complexity of the traditional planning process. Improving processes to craft AI-generated learning materials such as slides, images, short books, and videos for a specific lesson plan brings forward distinct challenges.

Solution

To address these challenges, we developed an AI-powered platform that streamlines the creation of lesson plans and learning materials. The platform uses natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to analyze existing lesson plans and generate new ones based on teacher preferences and student needs.

The platform also has an image recognition feature that suggests relevant images for each lesson plan topic. Additionally, it generates short books and videos using machine learning algorithms that adapt to students' learning styles.
