A social services organization's mobile crisis team was facing a significant challenge while attending to clients in active crisis. They had to carry too much paper with them, which made it difficult for them to focus on the client's needs. Additionally, they didn't have any way to call for emergency assistance or backup discreetly if required. This was putting the team and their clients at risk.

To address this problem, our team came up with a solution that would help the mobile crisis team attend to their clients' needs more efficiently and safely.

Solution

We developed a mobile-first portal/app that would allow the mobile crisis team to access all client information from a single record data model. The app was designed to be modularized so that it could be used across multiple counties. We also integrated Microsoft Authentication into the app for added security.

The app featured discrete buttons that allowed the team to call for emergency help or assistance without drawing attention to themselves or their clients. Additionally, we included collections of notes and a calendar of appointments tied to follow-up appointments, making it easier for the team to keep track of their client's progress.
