Problem

Loco faced a challenge in efficiently utilizing the video-on-demand (VOD) content generated from the broadcasting rights of popular esports tournaments. Despite driving high engagement during live streams, the platform struggled to maintain the visibility and sustained interest of past streams once they concluded.

The current approach resulted in missed opportunities to capitalize on user interest and potential returns on investment (ROI) from the purchased broadcasting rights for popular esports tournament.

We needed to find a way to maximize the reach of high-quality content on our platform and make it easily accessible to all users.

Solution

To address the challenge of underutilized VOD content, we created a centralized hub exclusively dedicated to specific tournaments. This hub, prominently featured through a banner on the home feed, served as a one-stop destination for users to access ongoing live streams, past streams, behind-the-scenes footage, and tournament-related content. The goal was to consolidate all relevant content in one place, providing users with easy access to high-quality esports content and prolonging the lifespan of each tournament's material. The solution was successfully piloted with the SkyEsports Championship 5.0 in November 2023.
