Problem

Our team was tasked with creating an application that could discover users' goals and engage onboarding more effectively. The previous onboarding process was not user-friendly and resulted in a high drop-off rate. We needed to find a way to keep users engaged and motivated to complete the onboarding process.

After conducting research, we found that users were more likely to complete the onboarding process if they felt like they were making progress towards their goals. However, we also found that many users did not have clearly defined goals when they first signed up for the application. This presented a challenge for our team as we needed to find a way to help users define their goals while keeping them engaged in the onboarding process.

Solution

To address this problem, we created a new onboarding process that focused on helping users define their goals before diving into the application's features. We added a goal-setting module at the beginning of the onboarding process where users could set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals.

We also implemented gamification elements throughout the onboarding process to keep users engaged and motivated. Users earned points for completing each step of the onboarding process and could track their progress towards their overall goal. Additionally, we added personalized recommendations based on each user's stated goal to make sure they were getting value out of the application from day one.
