Problem

Our client, a graphic design company, was struggling to find an efficient way to convert images into pencil sketches. They were using manual methods that were time-consuming and not always accurate. This led to delays in their projects and decreased customer satisfaction.

We knew we needed to find a solution that would automate the process of converting images into pencil sketches while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Solution

We decided to use Python to create a program that would convert images into pencil sketches automatically. We used the OpenCV library for image processing and manipulation, as well as other Python libraries such as NumPy and Matplotlib.

The program works by first converting the image into grayscale, then applying a Gaussian blur to smooth out any noise. We then used edge detection techniques such as Canny edge detection to identify the edges in the image. Finally, we applied a threshold function to create the pencil sketch effect.
