Problem

Our team was tasked with analyzing diverse data sources from the Kaggle platform to uncover key insights and trends related to road accidents. The main challenge was to find a way to utilize Python and statistical analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.

We found that the data was complex and required significant cleaning before we could begin our analysis. Additionally, many variables needed to be considered to accurately identify trends and patterns related to road accidents.

Solution

To address these challenges, we developed a comprehensive case study utilizing Python and statistical analysis. We first cleaned the data by removing any duplicates or irrelevant information. Then, we used various statistical techniques such as regression analysis and hypothesis testing to identify key trends and patterns related to road accidents.

After analyzing the data, we found that total causalities are decreasing year on year at a rate of 16.85%, with the majority of accidents being due to cars (about 3,350 accidents every year). We then published an end-to-end dashboard using Tableau that visualized these findings in an easy-to-understand format for stakeholders.
