Background

In 2022, our team participated in PKM by kemenristekdikti with the project title "IBROS: Intelligence Bumpy Road System". Although we didn't make it to PIMNAS, our project was published as an international paper in the Proceedings of International Electronics Symposium (IES) 2022 on IEEE. The project aimed to design a corrugated road detection system using LoRa communication.

Problem

The problem we aimed to solve was the detection of corrugated roads, which can cause discomfort and damage to vehicles. Traditional methods of detecting these roads were not efficient enough and required manual intervention. Our goal was to create a system that could detect these roads automatically and alert drivers in real-time.

Solution

We designed a system that used LoRa communication technology to detect corrugated roads. The system consisted of sensors placed on the road that would detect any bumps or irregularities. These sensors would then send signals to a central processing unit, which would analyze the data and determine if there were any corrugations present. If so, the system would send alerts to drivers through their smartphones or other devices.
