Problem

During the Smart India Hackathon, our team was tasked with developing a dam regulation system using AI to control drought and flood situations. We quickly realized that this was a complex problem that required a comprehensive solution. The existing systems were outdated and lacked the ability to predict weather patterns accurately. This made it difficult for authorities to take proactive measures to prevent disasters.

We also identified that there was no centralized platform for data collection and analysis, which made it challenging for authorities to make informed decisions. Additionally, the lack of real-time monitoring systems meant that any issues could only be detected after they had already occurred.

Solution

To address these challenges, we developed an AI-based dam regulation system that leveraged real-time data analytics and predictive modeling. Our solution integrated various sensors installed in dams across the country to collect data on water levels, rainfall, temperature, and other relevant parameters.

We then used machine learning algorithms to analyze this data and predict potential drought or flood situations. Our platform provided authorities with real-time alerts and recommendations on how to mitigate any risks proactively. We also developed a centralized dashboard that allowed authorities to monitor all dams' status across the country in real-time.
