AIG, a multinational insurance corporation, was in need of a cybersecurity virtual experience program to train their Cyber Defense Unit. The company needed a program that would simulate real-world cyber threats and vulnerabilities to help their team stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and publications. They also needed a solution that would showcase analytical skills in cybersecurity and provide guidance on vulnerability remediation.

The challenge was to develop a program that would effectively train the Cyber Defense Unit while also being engaging and interactive for participants. Additionally, the program needed to be scalable and accessible remotely due to the ongoing pandemic.

Solution

We developed a cybersecurity virtual experience program on Forage, an online learning platform. Our team completed a cybersecurity threat analysis simulation for AIG's Cyber Defense Unit, staying updated on CISA publications and researching reported vulnerabilities. We utilized Python skills to write a script for ethical hacking, avoiding ransom payments by bruteforcing decryption keys.

To ensure scalability and remote accessibility, we designed the program with interactive modules that could be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. We also drafted clear and concise emails to guide teams on vulnerability remediation.
