About Me

My introduction to programming came from chess battles where I was constantly trying to one-up my programmer roommate. A few algorithms and deep conversations later, we were equal rivals and I had been introduced to programming! (I lost the final game, gg). A couple of months later, I dove into FreeCodeCamp and the journey took off from there. Thanks for the inspiration Trev! Fast-forward to today, and I've had the privilege of working at a drum shop, a space company, and my alma mater's band program. My main focus these days is building internal tools and user enhancements at JDH for all 4 of our companies. In my spare time, I help lead a non-profit percussion group, Dark Sky Percussion, and keep up with the latest trends (HTMX, React) while sipping on some cold brew. I will always have a passion for the marching percussion arts. I am an active teacher and mentor for students who wish to engage, cultivate, and master marching percussion instruments. I am constantly improving teaching strategies to better further student growth.
