About This Project

In an exciting collaboration with Aircards for the Lancôme Beauty Tech & Beyond event in Thailand, we developed an innovative AR hologram experience. This project, launched in both English and Thai, allowed users to interact with a full-size hologram of Billkin, a famous Thai actor and singer, surrounded by 3D models representing the peptides that are part of the formula of the cream that's being promoted. The experience enabled users to use gestures to scale and position the hologram within their environment and tap on the 3D models to interact with them.

The hologram, which voiced a speech, created a captivating engagement opportunity. Once the speech concluded, users were prompted to sign up for the event. Additionally, a second part of the experience showcased a beautifully animated 3D model of a rose, with petals floating and falling around to enhace the environment.

Impact

The Lancôme Beauty Tech & Beyond AR hologram experience successfully captured the audience's attention, merging technology with beauty and entertainment. Highlights of the campaign's impact include:

Technical Details

Developed using A-Frame, Three.js, and 8th Wall technologies, the project utilized green screen video of a real person to create the hologram. The 3D models were designed to be interactive, providing detailed information upon user interaction. We integrated Google Analytics to make sure to capture the metrics to measure success.

Responsibilities

Lead Development: Spearheaded the development of the AR experience, ensuring the seamless integration of the hologram and 3D models. Addressed challenges related to material look and feel, user interaction in various environments, and maintaining a high-quality experience across different devices.

Optimization Across Devices: Conducted a comprehensive optimization process for both code and assets to ensure quick loading times and a visually impressive display on a wide range of devices.

Analytics Implementation: Implemented tools to capture detailed insights on user engagement, interaction patterns, and overall campaign reach, providing valuable data for future projects.
