Introduction

While working as a consultant at Airbnb on market growth, I saw a growing demand for flexible, furnished housing for business travel and corporate housing, and I decided to launch a housing startup to meet this need. My aim was to create a platform that would make it easier for professionals to find comfortable and affordable places to stay while they were away from home.

Problem

The challenge was to develop a platform that could effectively meet the needs of professionals traveling for business. This included finding suitable locations, marketing the properties, and managing the properties for guests. Additionally, I needed to establish partnerships with key players in the industry, such as hospitals and startups, to grow the business.

Approach

I took the lead in the product vision and strategy to develop and launch the business. The first step was to acquire locations in two of the biggest cities in the US - New York City and Los Angeles. This allowed me to offer a wide range of options for professionals traveling for business.

Next, I hired and managed a team to market and manage the properties for guests. Together, we worked to grow the footprint of the business in New York and LA and to host global professionals from tech, healthcare, film, and media.

Result

Our efforts paid off, as we generated 5,000+ nights booked. The business grew to an annual revenue of $1 million, and we established partnerships with hospitals and startups to house professionals.

Conclusion

The launch of my vertically-integrated housing startup was a success, and it has become a leading provider of furnished housing for business travel and corporate housing. I continue to grow and expand the business, offering a wide range of options for professionals traveling for business and providing a comfortable and affordable place to stay while they are away from home.
