Intro

As the fourth US team member at Breather, a real estate startup offering on-demand meeting rooms and workspaces, I joined the team to work on a business development strategy to grow revenue.

Problem statement

Breather offered a network of minimally-designed workspaces and meeting rooms designed for individuals and teams to find quiet spaces to work and meet. The company was looking for ways to grow its revenue.

Approach

I partnered with a colleague to reach out to hundreds of the fastest-growing companies in the NYC metro offering a free Breather for a day. After the free Breather, I followed up with an in-person event to pitch HR teams and Office Managers on partnering with Breather as an ongoing real estate partner. I then developed a portal that allowed companies to set up and manage users, book rooms on a corporate discount, and manage monthly invoices.

Results

The pilot evolved into Breather for Business and was rolled out globally, generating over $10M annually. Notable clients included Apple, Google, Uber, GE, American Express, L'Oreal, and IBM, and partners included Blue Apron, Spotify, and Apple.

Impact

Breather for Business became a go-to solution for the mobile workforce, providing on-demand spaces for meetings and team off-sites for companies worldwide.
