Problem

Automated Goal signaling for Sample Preparation Leadership Team. Our KPIs for finance, marketing, and web revenue reports were not automated, leading to a lack of efficiency and cost. This resulted in delays in driving profitability and cash flow due to the absence of rigorous prioritization, resource allocation, and cost management.

We needed a solution that would automate our goals for finance, broad marketing, and web revenue dashboard by 30/12/2022 to drive profitability and cash flow through rigorous prioritization, resource allocation, and cost management.

Solution

To solve this problem, I developed DAX measures for approximately 15 key performance indicators (KPIs) in addition to streamlining the goal-setting process using PowerBi. These measures, including Engaged Visits, SEO Web Revenue, MQOs, HR Metrics, and more, enabled automated tracking and monitoring of our KPIs.

To address these challenges, I took on the responsibility of performing data modeling to establish relationships between multiple marketing tables.

By leveraging DAX functions and formulas, I created a comprehensive framework that calculated goal values and provided real-time updates on the progress towards achieving those goals. This allowed us to prioritize resources effectively, manage costs efficiently, and make data-driven decisions for driving profitability and cash flow.

Furthermore, I integrated multiple live datasets and dataflows to compile all relevant information into streamlined dashboards and reports. Incorporated custom visuals to support KPI, Actual, Goal visual. This holistic view of our KPIs facilitated better analysis, visualization, and interpretation of the data, empowering stakeholders to gain actionable insights.

Key Approach:

Analyzed historical data to inform goal-setting process.
As my first project took lead on understanding the entire domain data, KPI and Metrics.
Written DAX for calculating MTD, QTD values for every KPI.
Written Excel formulas(VLOOKUP) for adding values from different sources to one cell to import in PowerBi.
Provided insights on performance metrics to inform decision-making
