A major retail company was struggling to accurately predict sales for their stores. They were using a manual process that relied heavily on historical data and human intuition, resulting in inconsistent and unreliable predictions. The company needed a more efficient and accurate way to forecast sales in order to optimize inventory management and improve overall profitability.

We knew we had to find a solution that would automate the forecasting process and eliminate the need for manual input. We also recognized the importance of incorporating external factors such as weather patterns, holidays, and local events into our model to improve accuracy.

Solution

Our team developed a machine learning algorithm that analyzed historical sales data along with external factors such as weather patterns, holidays, and local events to predict future sales for each store location. We used Python programming language along with various libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn etc.

The algorithm was trained on a large dataset of historical sales data from each store location along with corresponding external factors. Once trained, it was able to accurately predict future sales for each store based on the current date and external factors affecting that particular location. This allowed the retail company to optimize inventory management by stocking each store with the appropriate amount of product based on predicted demand.
